Luke Evans has also joined the cast of The Hobbit movie and chosen to play Bard The Bowman which is one of the key roles in story actor Luke Evans sure appear to have landed on a role which might be a breakthrough role changing his career as an actor. Though the character of Bard The Bowman does not fall in line with that of Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf it is one of the significant ones in the story and it is he who get to kill the dragon Smaug. 3D adaptation to J.R.R. Tolkien novel and also the prequel to The Lord of the Rings had started with its filming few weeks ago and even at that time there had been many vacancies in cast awaiting to be filled.
With Luke Evans joining the cast of The Hobbit movie fans can now tick the character of Bard The Bowman off the list. Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood and Clash of the Titans can be named as movies that has made this actor know for viewers. This upcoming actor also has two forthcoming movies which include period set adventure drama The Three Musketeers and the fantasy adventure Immortals. This actor was meant to land on a major role and it seems that the directorial venture of Peter Jackson is the movie to do it. He was first sought after for The Bourne Legacy but lost the role to Jeremy Renner. He was then shortlisted for the role of Tom Buchanan in The Great Gatsby but Joel Edgerton was cat instead.
As it has been mentioned above as well the role of Bard The Bowman for which Luke Evans has been cast in The Hobbit is not a major role in first level. However since the movie is going to be in two installments it can be said that he will have more running time dedicated to his character in the second part. With his critically acclaimed and audience wise well received franchise The Lord of the Rings director breathed new life into careers of Viggo Mortensen, Orlando Bloom and Dominic Monaghan so it could be the same for Luke Evans as well.
